Kiosk – Undertake a unique way of DVD rentals
The Movie-booth, a concept by Carlos Marco Rider, is launching kiosks all over UK and Ireland which will change the way people rent movies. The shoppers will be able to enjoy the easy access to their favourite movies from the robotically operated DVD vending machines! It was launched in Tesco Ireland for a trial basis and has already started to attract customers. I had gone through their websites, and right now they are launching just DVDs. As of now there is no blu-ray rental or game rental, but I think we can see that coming in the future as well. Going down the memory lane, I remembered the old VHS format cassettes we used to watch as kids. Renting a blockbuster movie is still common but with DVDs taking the place. The best thing that literally happened in the world of movies and cassettes was DVD, undeniably. The clarity improved and it became easier to carry 5 DVD back to home! Now with Blu-ray offering HD quality, I can see it will be the same thing for DVDs as it was for VHS. It will eventually be a part of history. A newly created brand which will offer DVD rental kiosks to retail store, Movie Booth is enabling the customers to rent movies on a pay-as-you-go basis from a fully automated machine. It uses touch-screen technology and it takes three steps to rent a movie from the kiosk. It has been designed with end-user in mind and has been made user friendly. The successful trials with Tesco, Centra and Applegreen are leading to the national use of DVD kiosk. In this ever changing market, retail outlets will feature DVD kiosks which will help the http://dvdrental.experts.uk.com/” name=”DVD rental”> DVD rental market to soar from the fall. Blockbuster Buckles Under Kiosk, Online Rental Growth
DVD kiosks A newcomer to the market, DVD kiosks are quickly eating into Blockbusters share of the rental market. Placed within existing retail stores the automated kiosks minimise premises and staffing costs, enabling these savings to be passed on to consumers, undercutting rental prices of traditional high street chains including Blockbuster. In the USA, Redbox have set the pace with DVD kiosks and now have more than 22,000 kiosks in operation giving them a market share of 13% in 2009. The kiosks offer rentals for $1 a night from many of the largest grocery stores in America. Continue reading

In the coming weeks shoppers will be able to benefit from the deployment of robotically operated DVD vending kiosks, and one machine being launched as a trial in a Tesco Ireland store initially could see the concept rolled out in 2008. The kiosks, which offer users touch-screen access to a range of new release movies, will also be launched in Centra and Applegreen stores with an expected deployment across both the UK and Ireland should the trials prove successful.
