Slabb Solutions: Selling contracts with Kiosks

Selling contracts, like insurance, can be managed by Self-service kiosks. These kiosks are designed to execute a simple transactions in a location, manner, or volume that would make live staffing unfeasible, like the concourse of an airport or shopping mall.

Contracts generally require some identification, acknowledgement, and payment so the kiosks are built with components to this end.

A typical configuration for these kiosks consist of:
  • X6 kiosk.
    • 19" LCD with a Touch screen Overlay
    • Low end thermal receipt printer for receipts
    • Laser printers (Letter/A4 size) for the contract
    • Scanner (Letter/A4 size) and/or
    • Signature pad
    • Payments: credit card swipe, debit cards or cash acceptors (Bill and/or Coins).
  • A keyboard + trackball is only used when you want the customers' details, like an email address. Touch screen input for large amounts of data (like names and street addresses) don't work very well; Most people are used to keyboards for data entry.
  • A secondary overhead monitor can be used for advertisements or marketing / infoation messages.

Airports and shopping malls are the most common places for these self service kiosks.
