Boarding Pass and Check-In Kiosks
Check in kiosks are used at airports,
medical centers, and hotels. From
typing your name on a keyboard at a hotel,
validating the name on a driver's license
against an EMR system, to passport chip authentication against FBI
and TSA databases these kiosks are defined
by their level of required security and
integration.
Components will vary widely but generally
consist of:

A robust kiosk body - X6
A keyboard + trackball is used if customer details
are required otherwise on-screen buttons can
be used.
A secondary overhead monitor can be used for
instructions or alerts .
Barcode and QR Scanners can be added to
provide more functionality in the tradeshow
environments

Printer: high end thermal ticket printer for airports
low end thermal receipt printer (with barcode) for queue management applications.
An OCR and photo ID imager and reader.
The magnetic stripe reader (typically a wedge or swipe reader),
can be used to read the credit cards, membership cards or concession cards.
A keyboard + trackball if there will be
a lot of manual data entry people are used to keyboards for data entry.
